Nailcote Hall announce the winners
of their '1000th Wedding' prize
More than fifty couples who were in with a chance of being the 'lucky 1000th' to have chosen the Nailcote Hall hotel for their wedding reception - and, would therefore have all the celebrations 'on the house' - attended a champagne party held at the hotel on the evening of Thursday February 16th. There were also 'Romantic Weekend' prizes for the runners up - but the winning couple were David Mbaziira and Regina Cummins.
And, as it turned out for the winners, it might almost have been 'a marriage made in a rugby club' because it was while her future husband was doing some serious clubbing with his rugger pals in Galway, Southern Ireland, that he met his fiancé Regina who was there working in a top local beauty salon.
But that was over two years ago and what followed was a long distance romance whilst Regina remained in Ireland and David continued to carve out a successful career in advertising. Originally his family had left Uganda, then in the grip of Idi Amin, to set up home in Birmingham shortly before David was born. And, thanks to his education in Birmingham, - plus a BA Honours degree in Design Management - David's position as an Account Director meant it made more sense for Regina to join him in England.
For her part, Regina will use all the knowledge she gained at The College of Beauty in Galway - plus her experience promoting such products as Estee Lauder - to set up on her own as a qualified beauty therapist and make-up artist. And, having herself competed in beauty contests in Ireland, she knows exactly how to help people look their best.
The wedding takes place at St Mary's Church, Acocks Green on July 7th followed by the reception and wedding breakfast at Nailcote Hall with some 120 guests expected to attend what promises to be a great Anglo-Irish party. And thanks to Nailcote Hall and the many firms which regularly work with the hotel their special day will be 'complimentary'. Flowers will be supplied by Buds & Bows of Kenilworth, toastmaster Tim Parry will do the honours, whilst Prestige Photography will cover the day and produce a special souvenir album.
For their honeymoon the couple will be flying to Dubai and going on safari in Kenya - so it looks as if their married life will be off to a great start. As Regina remarked "I am so looking forward to our wedding and to sharing the celebrations with our friends and families. And to have it for free at Nailcote is yet more icing on the cake."
Nailcote produces a comprehensive colour brochure with advice on planning the special day with details on seating plans, the order of speeches – and virtually everything you need to know about getting married. For a copy call the hotel on 02476 466174 or click here to order online.
